About
Pembrokeshire will be the host County for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society in 2007. The host County system means that every 13 years Pembrokeshire has the privilege of being able to 'host' the Royal Welsh Show.
This gives us the opportunity not only to choose our own President and Lady Ambassador for the year, but also a chance to market all that's good about our County.
The year officially starts at the RWAS Council Meeting in December 2006.
The County will have a big fundraising drive on during this time to raise money to re-build the Commentary Box in the Main Ring at the Showgraound in Llanelwedd. This will be called 'The Pembrokeshire Tower.'
Pembrokeshire County Council are major contributors to the fund raising effort with a donation of £65,000 towards the host county fund.
Although the fundraising is an integral part of the host County system, there is another very important aspect to the year, that is, to bring the County together so that we can all enjoy the experience of being the host County for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society in 2007!
